ABOUT THE FIRE ZONE
STEP INSIDE THE FDNY FIRE ZONE
The FDNY Fire Zone is New York City’s fire and life safety learning center, located in Rockefeller Center. Guided by FDNY firefighters and educators, visitors of all ages can explore interactive exhibits, a realistic fire simulator, and multimedia presentations that teach how to prevent fires and respond in an emergency.
Operated by the FDNY Foundation, the Fire Zone plays a vital role in keeping New Yorkers safe. Every visit helps support education programs, training, and equipment for the men and women of the FDNY, while giving families, students, and tourists an unforgettable experience with New York’s Bravest.

Fire Simulator
Book a Presentation
At the heart of the Fire Zone experience is an innovative fire simulator that utilizes special effects and multimedia to educate visitors about fire safety and what to do in the event of a fire emergency. A firefighter and facilitator guide visitors through the interactive presentation. Visitors leave the Fire Zone with materials necessary to eliminate fire hazards in their own homes and to create escape plans for their families.
The presentation is recommended for children four years old and up.
